How inspection photos work

We photograph your vehicle at every milestone so you never have to prove anything happened.

The 12-photo standard

At pickup and at delivery, the driver captures 12 reference photos: front, rear, both sides, four dashboard angles (mileage, fuel, dash lights, gear position), and close-ups of any pre-existing damage. Twelve is the cargo-claim industry standard — what insurance investigators look for when they assess "was this damage pre-existing or did it happen in transit?" Anything that's NOT in our pickup photos but IS in our delivery photos happened during transit. That's the protective math.

  • Front, rear, driver side, passenger side (4)
  • Dashboard angles — mileage, fuel, lights, gear (4)
  • Pre-existing damage close-ups (up to 4)
  • Industry standard for cargo-claim documentation

At every milestone

Photos are taken at three checkpoints: pickup (full 12-photo set), each transit waypoint (driver's choice — typically 2–4 across the trip), and delivery (full 12-photo set). Every photo is timestamped and GPS-tagged automatically by the driver's app. The waypoint shots aren't legal records — they're "your car is still where it should be" peace-of-mind shots. Often it's a parking-lot photo, or your car on the trailer behind a rest stop sign.

  • Pickup: full 12-photo set
  • Transit waypoints: 2–4 across the route
  • Delivery: full 12-photo set
  • All photos timestamped + GPS-tagged automatically

Where to find them

Open your portal, scroll to Inspection photos, and tap Pickup, Transit, or Delivery. Photos are stored permanently — your portal access doesn't expire after delivery. If you want them as a single download for your records, the "Download all" link at the top of the photo gallery zips and emails them to you. The carrier and we both keep copies for 7 years per FMCSA documentation rules.

  • Portal → Inspection photos card
  • Stored permanently (portal access doesn't expire)
  • "Download all" → ZIP via email
  • 7-year retention on our side per federal rules

What they actually protect

If a panel ding shows up at delivery that isn't in the pickup photos, it's a claim — full stop. You won't be in a "his word against mine" position with a carrier, because the documentation IS the position. This is why our Damage Promise covers the gap between what the carrier's bond pays out and the actual repair cost: we're confident the photos hold up, so we'll cover the rest if the carrier's insurer fights it.

  • Photos are the evidence, not your word
  • Carrier disputes lose against a documented 12-shot set
  • Damage Promise covers what the carrier's bond doesn't

After delivery

Keep the BOL — it's your legal proof of condition. Keep the photos — they're your visual proof. Together they're a complete record. Most customers never need to refer back to them. The ones who do are very glad they exist.

  • BOL + photos = complete record
  • Most customers never look at them again
  • The customers who do are very glad they exist
